Women In Innovation £200K Funding Briefing
18 July, Birmingham, This is the first women only Innovate UK competition and is part of a new ‘infocus’ initiative to encourage diversity in innovation.  Each of the 12 finalists in the competition will receive a package of support tailored to their needs, and the four winners will each receive £50,000 to support their innovation project or activities.  Register here.
 
infocus Awards for Women In Innovation – deadline 24 August 2016.
Women with potential to be successful entrepreneurs and leaders in innovation can apply for support and funding to help them to succeed.  The infocus Awards will celebrate and reward women working across 4 key sectors, including Health & Life Sciences.  Innovate UK has up to £200,000 and a package of tailored support to award to businesswomen who have exciting ideas and the potential to become leaders in innovation and deliver significant economic growth.
 
Business Growth Programme - has now launched, which includes grant programmes to support SMEs across Greater Birmingham and Solihull, Stoke and Staffordshire and the Marches.  Priority will be given to investment-ready projects which can be completed within 4 months, so time is of the essence!   In brief:
  • Business Innovation Programme offers grant support of £10k-£30k towards project costs for SMEs investing in innovative close-to-market processes, products and services.
  • The Business Development Programme offers grant support of £10k-£20k towards project costs for businesses looking to expand, relocate and improve access to markets.
  • The Green Bridge Supply Chain Programme offers grant support of £20k-£150k towards project costs for supply chain companies operating in, or diversifying into the green economy.
  • The HS2 Supply Chain Programme offers grant support of £20k-£200k towards project costs for supply chain companies which have, or are in the process of securing, or have the ability to secure a contract for HS2.
