EIT Health - Innovation by ideas
EIT Health, a European Union-wide consortium established to tackle healthy living and active ageing, has launched a call for proposals for new Innovation by Ideas projects to start in 2017, with up to half a million euros in funding up for grabs.
The ultimate objective of the proposed projects should be the rapid market penetration of innovative healthcare products and services. Innovation by Ideas projects should build on multidisciplinary and multinational collaboration, and address and contribute to at least one societal challenge and one business objective as below): Societal challenges Business Objectives Promoting healthy living - Lifestyle interventions - Self-management of health Supporting active ageing - Workplace interventions - Overcoming functional loss Improving healthcare - Improving healthcare systems - Treating and managing chronic diseases

Innovation by Ideas projects are collaborative projects and are driven by societal challenges within the thematic scope of EIT Health. The projects are ‘solution driven’, i.e. a potential solution has been identified that either capitalises on an opportunity or addresses a specific problem presented by demographic ageing of the population. Up to €500,000 can be sought for each project. The EIT contribution will be provided for a maximum of 12 months, finishing on 31 December 2017 at the latest.
