The challenge
The call bell is a vital communication link during a patient’s hospital stay and due to the nature of some of the patients conditions at the Midland Centre for Spinal Injury (MCSI) the call bell system can be quite different. In order to make better use of the facility and improve the experience of patients within the MCSI the team are looking to identify if there is a technology solution that integrates the following three elements:
- call bell system
- patient entertainment system
- patient education capability
Existing solutions
Existing solutions for a a nurse call bell system that have been considered include:
- Ping Pong
- Sensors
- Baby monitors with a fitted camera for where the patient has no movement
- Small screen V wich is adustable
- Face to face patient education
What are we looking for?
We are looking for exhisting technologies that address the challenge above or technologies that could potentially be adapted to suit the needs of this speciliased unit.
