Innovation 'Elevator Pitch':
FillChoiceRoom is a single use drug reconstitution device, which enables chemotherapy drugs to be mixed and infused at the bedside, without the need for pharmacy handling or special equipment
Overview of Innovation:
Mi3 is co-developing a product, which is designed to solve a number of clinical issues, as well as offering significant economic advantage to UK hospitals.
The Product
FillChoiceRoom, is an all-in-one drug reconstitution system, which provides a sealed, aseptic environment for the re-constitution of toxic or specialist drugs using sterile diluents, without the need for specialist pharmacy preparations, and possibly in the ward environment.
Current Practice
Currently, we understand that vital drugs are prepared for infusion in an aseptic pharmacy
environment, utilising a number of disposable sterile disposables and technical equipment
(such as laminar flow cabinets), and are heavily dependant upon the supervised
expertise of a qualified pharmacist.
Clinical Issues (data available on request)
Mistakes are possible

Residual drug on the door handles, sockets, chairs, tables, floors in:
•Hospital pharmacies
•Patients rooms
•Other rooms dedicated to medication preparation
Economic Benefits
•Reduce drug waste
•Less consumables and disposables
Saved costs
•Consumables and disposables
•Pharmacist work and time
•Hospital Pharmacy equipment management
Stage of Development:
Close to market - Prototype near completion and final form may require additional validation/evaluation and all CE marking and regulatory requirements are in place
